our roots

Two Drifters Distillery is the creation of Russ and Gemma Wakeham, owners of and brewers at Two Drifters Brewery (www.twodriftersbrewery.com). As well as our obvious love for craft beer, we also have a passion for rum and we’ve spent many years researching, experimenting and tasting rums from all over the world, we now feel we have an understanding of what we like and why. So, with Russ’ background in organic chemistry, and our work with beer, we know we have the expertise to ferment, distil and bottle our own rum.

We make our rum in our bespoke warehouse near Exeter Airport, where our brewery is housed as well. We’ve worked very hard to be where we are right now, and finally believe we have the best jobs in the world, living in one of the best counties, making products that we love.

We strongly believe we all need to do our bit for climate change so we ensure every part of our rum production is carbon negative by offsetting our carbon dioxide emissions through direct air capture.
